Pupils at Prospect House have been awarded the coveted Eco-Schools Green Flag with distinction.
The Eco-Schools Green Flag is an international accreditation that recognises efforts to raise environmental awareness amongst young people, whilst taking action to make their school more sustainable. Prospect House has now received notification of its status as an accredited Eco-School, following their hard work and dedication this academic year.
The Eco-Schools programme was established in 1994 and is now delivered in more than 70 countries across the globe. The programme prompts young people to explore a variety of environmental issues, including climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. Pupils are then empowered to plan and deliver environmental actions in their school, local community, and beyond.
This year, pupils at Prospect House have built strong foundations, collaborating with Eco Leader, Louise Carter, to work on various Eco-Schools topics. They have planned a variety of projects and recorded their success. A popular project has surrounded the topic of food waste, where the schools kitchen team joined forces with the eco team to reduce the waste food produced by the school with huge success.
We are incredibly proud of their success and cannot wait to see more exciting projects.
