Bernice Kostick

I am very pleased to contribute to  Prospect House School as the Chair of Governors. I was brought up in North Manchester and I attended a local mainstream school for my own education.

I have 38 years’ experience  teaching in Manchester schools. Most of my teaching has been in North Manchester. I retired in 2023. I was a Headteacher for 20 years. The vast majority of my experience as a teacher was in SEND schools.

I have a knowledge and understanding of the local community and I am keen to contribute to the development of Prospect House. I feel very fortunate to be able to offer something back to the education community in this voluntary role. I am very proud to be a governor of such a wonderful school.

Musibau KaffoMusibau Kaffo, known as Kaffo, is a managing actuarial consultant for PwC, based in Manchester. He specialises in risk management and modelling having worked for the global accountancy firm for 5 years. Following university, he actually worked in education as a teacher of Mathematics, at a secondary school in Oldham. He taught ages 11-16, including some further education classes and achieved his PGCE as part of the Teach First programme.

He is passionate about social mobility and providing opportunities in the private sector for socio-economic disadvantaged pupils, having volunteered as a mentor and coach for college and university pupils whilst working at PwC.

He continues to be involved with education acting as a Governor for Prospect House.

Stuart HarrisI currently work as a Deputy Head at Grange School. I am responsible for Personal Development , Behaviour and Attitudes as well as aspects of Health and Safety. I am the senior DSL and an Intermediate Team Teach Instructor.

I have been at Grange School for over 10 years and feel privileged to work with such a fantastic group of pupils who make sure that every day is different and brings it own unique rewards ; I know that the same can be said of the children who attend Prospect House and I consider myself equally privileged to have been given the opportunity to contribute as a Governor and work as a critical friend with Tracy , her staff and pupils.

I bring a range of experience and a proven track record of success to the roll of Governor along with a solution focused approach, a sense of humour and the resilience to remain committed to long term aspirations and goals.

I am also a father of two and as a long standing cricket and football parent recognise the need to maintain a work life balance so that the positive qualities and characteristics I feel are important are not lost or diminished.

Jen SleightI currently work as Assistant Headteacher at Piper Hill High School, a Secondary Special School within the Prospere Trust.

At Piper Hill, I have responsibility for overseeing the multi-agency work including Occupational Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.  This supports my role in supporting Piper Hill to achieve their Autism Accreditation and Rights Respecting Silver Award.

My other responsibilities include taking the lead for Post 16 Attendance, overseeing our Cultural Capital offer, and having responsibility for music as a subject area.

I have been fortunate to teach music at Prospect House and other schools across the Prospere Trust. Teaching music across the trust is a wonderful opportunity to meet lots of lovely students. Outside of school, I enjoy going away for weekends in my campervan for long walks and wild swimming.

I value this time and want to support students in leading fulfilled lives that include their interests, both at school and in the community. I look forward to being a part of the Prospect House school community as the Quality of Education link governor and sharing good practise across the Prospere Trust.

Ash FarrahI am a proud to have worked in communities across North Manchester for the past 5 years with Manchester City Council. My two passions are climate change action and working with young people, which why I am delighted to unite them and support Prospect House as a Governor.

In my current role I am responsible for the programme management of decarbonisation within the local authority, in my spare time I am very lucky to this oversee youth-group "Manchester Climate Change Youth Network" and co-chair a community climate action group in Miles Platting.

I was immediately inspired when first invited to work with the staff and pupils of Prospect House. I look forward to supporting the school moving forward with their continued environmental and community work.

Dan Cere has taught English Language and Literature across three key stages for the last ten years.
