The internet can be a great place for children and young people to learn, explore and play. It is a great tool for staying in touch with friends and family as well as interacting with the world around them. The internet can also be an incredibly inclusive, creative, and fulfilling place.

However, the virtual online world can be dangerous too and can present great risk of potential harm to our children and young people. It is important that we are aware of how to ensure that our children are safe when online. For our children here at Prospect House, that risk is very real. They may not be aware of potential dangers or what to do when they face them.

Now more than ever it’s important to ensure that our children are using the internet safely. It’s important to talk to children about staying safe online and about the apps and sites they’re using.

Prospect House provides safe access to the Internet and digital technology to help pupils learn and achieve. Just as learners need to stay safe in the real world, learners need to be safe in the digital world.

Our ‘Online Safety Hub’ provides tips, advice and resources to help children, young people and adults stay safe on the Internet. Below we have links to further support and also resources produced by Manchester City Council.

We are delighted to announce that we have shown our commitment to protecting our pupils online by working with National Online Safety- providing free resources for all parents and carers and for the second year in a row, we are an accredited school.

The resources include a Parents & Carers course that can be taken at your own convenience and in small sections. It covers:
