Image of Welcome Back!

Dear Parents/carers,

I would like to welcome our new parents/carers to Prospect House and welcome back our existing parents/carers too.

As we come to the end of our first full week back, I wanted to say thank you for preparing your child so well for their return to school. Students have been happy and settled in their new classes We regularly review our school risk assessment in line with Government guidance and any local COVID 19 updates. Please look at the school website for any updates and new information.

As new parents and carers of the school we look forward to your support and getting to know you and your child. 

Home to School Communication

Class teams will send home any messages and or information about your child’s day at school either through home/school diaries, ClassDojo or Seesaw. We will call you or send a text to make you aware of any information. We will also send home letters. Our school website is continually updated and has key information for families regarding both school and the wider community. Please could you ensure that your contact details are up to date.

Sending money into school

Please contact Michelle Peacock if you require assistance to set up ParentPay.

Uniform

School uniform is outlined in the school prospectus and should be worn every day. Your child will receive a complimentary sweatshirt, free of charge when they start at Prospect House and any additional ones can be purchased from the school office at the cost of £8.95 (sizes 26” to small adult) and £10.55 (sizes M to XL).

School Meals

If your child stays for school lunch, they will be offered a choice of lunch each day. If you would like a menu sent home so that you can have a look at the choices with your child, please send a note into the class teacher who will arrange for a menu to be sent home. If they bring a packed lunch, please make sure it is healthy with no crisps, chocolate, sweets, or fizzy drinks. The cost of a school meal is £2.30 per meal/£11.50 per week.  

Please be aware we are a nut free school due to some students having an allergy to nuts. Please inform school of any dietary requirements and/or allergies.   If your child does have an allergy, please can you provide a medical letter from your Doctor.

Free School Meals

If your child is entitled to free school meals, please provide us with a copy of a letter from Manchester City Council Benefits Service dated 1st April 2018 onwards. If you have not got a letter from the Benefits Service you will need to apply online before the first day back in school via the link below: www.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/sims.

If no evidence is provided we will not be able to put your child on the system as entitled to free school meals and you will therefore be charged at £2.30 per day, in addition we will not be able to back date any free school meal claims.  

Home to school transport

Home to school transport is a separate organisation to school. School are not able to access transport information and/or make any transport decisions. The transport department can be contacted directly on 0161 219 6400.

Attendance

As a school we work in partnership with our families to ensure that our attendance is high. If your child is not well or is showing symptoms of Covid 19, please seek medical advice and ensure you keep us informed in school.  Absence in term time for anything other than an appointment and/or illness is not allowed, we also ask that you notify the school office if your child is going to be absent on any one day.
